Victims of Crime / CVAP Counselling

Support, healing, and a way forward.

Experiencing a crime can affect your emotional well being, sense of safety, relationships, and everyday life. Even when the immediate danger has passed, your mind and body may continue reacting to what happened.
Counselling can provide a safe and supportive space to process the experience, reduce distressing symptoms, rebuild a sense of control, and move forward at your own pace.

It Is Normal to Have a Strong Response

After a frightening, violent, or distressing experience, you may notice:

Counselling Through the Crime Victim Assistance Program

The Crime Victim Assistance Program in British Columbia may provide financial support for counselling to eligible victims of crime, certain immediate family members, and some witnesses. Eligibility and available benefits are determined by the program.
I provide counselling for clients accessing support through the Crime Victim Assistance Program. If you already have approval, we can discuss the next steps. If you are unsure about your eligibility or coverage, you can contact the program directly and we can also discuss the counselling process during your consultation.

A Safe, Respectful, and Trauma Informed Space

My approach is collaborative, respectful, and trauma informed. I use evidence informed therapeutic approaches that may include EMDR, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, mindfulness based strategies, emotional regulation skills, and other trauma focused methods.
The work is guided by your needs and goals. We focus on helping you feel safer, reduce the impact of trauma, strengthen coping, and move toward the parts of life that matter to you.
Flexible Ways to Attend
In person counselling is available at my downtown Vancouver office. Secure virtual counselling is available throughout British Columbia for clients who prefer to attend from home or another private space.
CVAP Billing
For eligible clients with approved Crime Victim Assistance Program benefits, counselling services may be billed through the program according to its authorization and coverage rules.
If you have questions about starting counselling, we can discuss them during your free 20 minute consultation, or you can contact me before booking.

Support Is Available. Healing Is Possible.

You do not have to go through this alone. Counselling can help you process what happened, reduce the impact on your life, and move forward with greater strength and confidence.
