Men's Counselling

A practical space to work through stress, relationships, anger, identity, and the pressure to hold everything together.

Many men wait until something becomes difficult to ignore before reaching out. You may be managing work, family, finances, relationships, and other responsibilities while feeling that there is little room to talk about what is happening internally.
Counselling can offer a private and practical space to understand what is happening, make sense of recurring patterns, and develop ways of responding that are more consistent with the person you want to be.

You Do Not Need to Be in Crisis to Come to Counselling

Sometimes the Problem Is Not a Lack of Insight

You may already know what you should do. You may understand your patterns and still find yourself repeating them when you are stressed, angry, hurt, or overwhelmed. Insight is useful, but change often requires learning what happens in the moment and building a different response.
Counselling can help connect what you know intellectually with what you actually do when emotions are high.

What We Can Work On

Anger and Emotional Regulation
Understand what happens before anger takes over and develop ways to respond without losing your voice or escalating the situation.
Relationships
Work on communication, trust, conflict, emotional connection, separation, or recurring patterns with a partner or family.
Stress and Burnout
Identify what is draining your capacity and develop more sustainable ways of managing work, family, and personal demands.
Anxiety and Low Mood
Address worry, rumination, emotional shutdown, loss of motivation, and the pressure to appear fine.
Self Esteem and Identity
Explore the beliefs and experiences that shape how you see yourself and what you expect from yourself.
Life Direction
Clarify what matters to you and translate that into practical choices, boundaries, routines, and goals.

Practical, Respectful, and Direct

My approach is collaborative and practical. I will listen carefully, but counselling is not limited to talking about the week. We work to identify patterns, understand what drives them, and build strategies you can use outside the counselling room.
Depending on your needs, our work may draw from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, mindfulness based approaches, Schema Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, trauma informed care, and other evidence informed methods.
In Person and Virtual Counselling
In person appointments are available at my downtown Vancouver office. Virtual counselling is available to clients in British Columbia, Ontario, Alberta, Manitoba, and Nova Scotia.
Direct Billing Available
I offer direct billing to major insurance providers across Canada. Where available, I can submit your counselling claim directly to your insurance provider. Coverage depends on your individual benefit plan.
If you have questions about insurance, we can discuss them during your free 20 minute consultation, or you can contact me before booking.

Start With a Free 20 Minute Consultation

You do not need to know exactly what to talk about. Tell me what has been happening, what is not working, and what you would like to be different. We can take it from there.
